Growing up with a physician mother, Elizabeth was drawn to medicine early — but it was her own orthodontic treatment that showed her exactly where she was meant to be. She watched a confident smile change the way she moved through the world, and decided then that she wanted to spend her career giving that same gift to others.
Orthodontics spoke to something specific in her — the rare place where science and art meet. Where clinical precision and an eye for beauty aren't in conflict, but completely inseparable — blending facial harmony, function, and long-term stability. She pursued that calling with intention at Columbia University, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class, and in her Orthodontic residency at Tufts University.
After years of practicing as an associate and building meaningful relationships with patients and families, she knew it was time to build something of her own. Essex Orthodontics was founded on a simple belief: that exceptional care and an elevated experience should never be mutually exclusive. That every patient regardless of age deserves to feel seen, unhurried, and genuinely cared for.
Board Certification through the American Board of Orthodontics is a voluntary achievement — one that fewer orthodontists pursue than you might think. It requires rigorous examination and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing education and the highest standards of care.
